The reason for this denomination is that here you can find everything. This place is a popular meeting point for people of all ages, both Ecuadorians and tourists from around the world. The cosmopolitan ambiance expresses its variety of culinary and artistic options, travel agencies, language and dancing schools, and folkloric shops.
Salsa, merengue and classic rock are among the many musical items on La Mariscal’s menu which is famous for its live performances, with many bars offering artisanal beers or local drinks to enjoy the spectacle.
The cosmopolitan barrio provides a wide variety of artistic and cultural activities, including the National Museum of the Central Bank (Casa de la Cultura), the country’s largest and most complete museum for arts, the Ethno-historic and Folkloric “Mindalae” and the artisan market where you can buy all your souvenirs (similar to the Otavalo artisan market).
